The Mitchell Scholarship honors former Senator George Mitchell’s contributions to the NorthernThe Mitchell Scholarship honors former Senator George Mitchell’s contributions to the NorthernIreland peace process and is designed to introduce and connect generations of future Americanleaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership,and a commitment to the community and public service.Up to 12 Mitchell Scholars are selected annually for one academic year of postgraduate study in anydiscipling offered by institutions of higher learning in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Applicants areselected based on their scholarship, leadership, and commitment to service. The MitchellScholarship Program provides tuition, accommodation, and a stipend for living expenses and travel.
