Radiation Safety Training:
The Radiation Safety Training has two parts: a online training and test, and a lab-specific training to be given by your instructor.
All personnel working with radiation sources need to complete the radiation safety training, if training is lapsed.
No one will be allowed to work with radiation sources without having received the appropriate training.
No one will be allowed to work if the radiation training is lapsed .
To take the training, following these instructions:
1. Fill-in the
Radiation Safety Training Request Form
and send it electronically to Jim Tucker ( jim658@okstate.edu) followed by a hard copy to the Radiation Safety Office. If you are going to use radiation sources only, check "General Radiation Safety Training" in the form. If you are going to use X-rays, also check "X-ray".
2. Upon receipt of the form, Radiation Safety personnel will include you in the URC Assistant application and will e-mail you a username and password.
3. Log-in into the URC Assistant. (If you choose "O-Key realm", enter your username, not your e-mail address: e.g., "joedoe". If you do not have an O-Key address, e-mail Jim Tucker with a unique identified, e.g., you passport number.)
4. Choose the appropriate training in the URC Assistant.
5. Review all slides.
6. Take the exam (30 multiple choice questions).
7. Fill-in the
Badge Request Form
, have it signed by your supervisor (Dr. Yukihara), and send it to the Radiation Safety Office.
Note: You have 3h to view all slides and take the exam. If there is little time left when you get to the exam, log off and log in again to reset the timer.

Instructions for opening Risoe data files:
To open Risoe data files, follow these instructions:
1. Copy the ".bin" file into a folder.
2. Put the following program in the same folder:
TRANSBIT.EXE
3. Run Transbit.exe and enter the data filename (without extension). A ".bit" file will be created.
4. In Excel, open the ".bit" file. When opening the file, choose "delimited" and for the delimiters choose "tab" and "comma". Click the "finish" button.
