Clinical Assistant Professor in Physics

The Department of Physics seeks applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor position who will serve as our Director of Entry-Level Physics Instruction.  This position is a long-term, non-tenure-track faculty academic year appointment with faculty rank and promotion based on experience and productivity.  The position, which will begin in Fall 2013, requires a Ph.D. in physics with a specialization in Physics Education strongly preferred.  The Director will be responsible for teaching algebra and calculus-based introductory physics courses and coordinating the delivery of several large enrollment physics courses offered every semester.   Other responsibilities will include the training of graduate teaching assistants in pedagogical methods used in recitation instruction of large physics courses, and oversight of Physics Learning Center facilities.  Applications, including a cover letter describing the applicant’s qualifications for the position and a full curriculum vitae, should be sent to Chair, Clinical Assistant Professor Search Committee, Department of Physics, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK 74078.   Applications and inquiries can also be sent by email to physics@okstate.edu; please include “Clinical Prof Search” in the subject line.  Applicants should arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation sent to the above address.   For full consideration applications should be received by February 15, 2013, but the position will remain open until filled.
