Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Physics
Experimental Particle Physics
Oklahoma State University

The Department of Physics at Oklahoma State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics with specialization in experimental particle physics to begin Fall 2013. We are looking for candidates with outstanding scientific accomplishments, international stature, and demonstrated leadership ability who will contribute new capabilities to our current experimental particle physics program.   We have a strong preference for candidates with research programs that will complement our current faculty research efforts with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC at CERN. Applicants should have a Ph.D., post-doctoral experience, and a strong record of independent research. The successful candidate is expected to initiate and maintain a vigorous research program and be an effective teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

The OSU High Energy Group currently consists of four faculty members (two in experiment and two in theory), two postdoctoral fellows, one engineer and ten doctoral students.  The experimental HEP group is involved in top quark studies, searches for a non-standard model Higgs boson, heavy flavor tagging and upgrade of the pixel detector in ATLAS experiment. For details see http://physics.okstate.edu/hep.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, a full curriculum vitae (including a full list of publications), and brief summaries of research and teaching goals, as well as arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation submitted via Academic Jobs Online, at www.academicjobsonline.org.  Inquiries or nominations should be directed to Chair, HEP Search Committee, Department of Physics, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK 74078-3072, USA, or by email to: physics@okstate.edu. Please include the subject line “HEP Search” in any email inquiries or applications. Applications should be received by February 1, 2013 for full consideration.
