Albert T. Rosenberger
Professor of Physics
AB, Whitman College, 1971
SM, University of Chicago, 1972
PhD, University of Illinois, Urbana, 1979
American Physical Society Outstanding Referee, 2008
Research Interests: Dr. Rosenberger’s Optical Physics Laboratory is currently involved in studies of the optics of microresonators and localized surface plasmons. In addition to the basic physics of dielectric microresonators, research topics include chemical and surface-effect sensing, quantum-dot microlasers, classical analogs to quantum-optical phenomena, evanescent coupling enhancement, and fast optical coupling control. More detailed information can be found by following the links at left.
Teaching: Spring 2010 – PHYS 2414, General Physics for Science Majors II (TR 12:30, 054 PS). Previous semesters’ offerings range from various graduate courses in photonics and quantum mechanics to undergraduate quantum mechanics, modern physics, and general physics.
